Hi there,
It's a long time i've not been here and i'm glad to see i have still my login profile
Hope you're all fine.

Well i first want to ask because i don't remember, what is the little program to extract vr "trk" files?
My web search didn't give me any clue...

And, can i have vrgt authorisations, for me and others track makers to convert your original tracks, i hope i can make it to race'em on gtr2.

Best regards.

Hi,

It's not possible to extract data from tracks once they are in trk-file format, so you'd need the source files. What tracks do you have in mind to convert?

Hi xTony,
I'll not mean you're wrong cause i really don't remember, but as far as i do, i had a prog in dos mode that extracted all what was in "trk" files in a folder so we can modify textures, that's how i did my planet mesa... think so...
Also maybe you don't know about this and i may had luck to have found it... Also maybe i'm completely crazy at all !

Well, until i don't know if convertion is possible i'll not go further, i've posted on a gtr2 forum a request for moders to help that way first for default vr tracks and while i'm waiting for it, i thinked about your work and seemed to me to be great to race'em on a new sim, that's why i asked

So i particulary noticed that LakePatuwo is one of your most popular tracks so this one may be a good client to convertion, and also Catalunya because i don't know that one, every others are ever in gtr2.

Wish you a nice day.

Yes, you can break down the file for textures, but all the other formats inside the file cannot be reverse engineered *at least not that I know of

For the Lake Patuwo track...best thing to do is e-mail the original creator (see readme-file inside the track's zip-file for contact information).

Ok thx ,well it's a bit hard to find the guru one.
I posted a pm to Patwo but in readme it says that it's a developpement team with : Ashes48, FPWolf, Andy M, Andy G, Tyler B, Anders, xtonyx, Dave B and Dave P .

You think i have to pm'em all?

And sorry but i can't fix that "reverse engineered" what does it mean?
When extracted you can't put'em back in one trk file...
That's strange, but maybe i don't understand because of my english.

Maybe you could give me the name of that thing to "break down" trk files and of course if you tell me where i can get it would be sweet, to let me see what's in.

regards,

Ok, don't miss your time with the name of the program i found it back.
I understand what you said now is that we can't either edit or see the track with anything, that means if i want to convert'em i'll have to build from nothing.
Dammit it's really not cool... that means months of hard work...
Well still it may be easier to convert yours and others originals but my wish definitly was to race again on default ones.
Thx xTonyx, i'll think about it...
Let me even know if something new's coming up about that.

See ya

Dr Johnny, i'm sorry but it says your pm box is full so i'll make it here.
But i have now to write again, my web browser did'nt save what i wrote.

Well I believe that I do not arrive very well has to render comprehensible me because of my arranged english
No, what i want is in priority to convert, make playable, default tracks gived with Viper Racing, on GTR2, cause they're missing to me.
Now that i feel the hard work needed (like pain in the ass) i'm asking myself about that, maybe original tracks are easier to convert but it won't give me full satisfaction.

Thanks for your invitation, but i don't play vr anymore, now have gtr. I'm impressed you all still play Vr

Have to go, if you can be of any help with the files inside tracks, would be cool.

Thx again, nice continuation.
